Liza Rascon (Hernandez)

Maestra Rascon brings six years of experience in dual language education and a deep love for helping children grow into confident, curious, and joyful bilingual learners.

Maestra earned her Dual Language Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University, is GLAD trained, and has had the privilege of serving as a dual language team lead and mentor teacher.

Prior to becoming a teacher, she worked in Human Resources—but eventually followed her heart into the classroom and never looked back.

Maestra’s classroom is a place for creativity, connection, movement, laughter, and lots of “¡Sí puedo!” moments. She loves hands-on learning, art, storytelling, and helping students discover that they are capable of beyond their imagination. She believes children thrive when they feel truly known, safe, and excited to learn.

Outside of school, she is a mom of two grown children, a lifelong creative, and an enthusiastic treasure hunter. She loves painting, DIY projects, thrifting for vintage finds, decorating, traveling, riding her e-bike, and finding inspiration just about everywhere.  She is usually in the middle of a project—and firmly believes there’s always room for one more plant!

She is thrilled to be part of Cedar Cove’s small-but-mighty community!
