Ms. Reskala is excited to join the JCS Team as an Instructional Specialist. Born in Mexico City, Ms. Reskala attended a bilingual elementary school that proved helpful for when she moved to the suburbs of Chicago at 9 years old. Growing up in Mexico City and Chicago, Ms.Reskala developed a deep appreciation for education and bilingual learning. Ms. Reskala attended Illinois State University where she majored in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Bilingual Education and Spanish, and obtained her teaching credentials for Early Childhood Education, Bilingual Education, and Spanish as a world language.

With over 4 years of experience in education, Ms. Reskala has taught at various schools in the US as well as abroad in Spain, and is passionate about nurturing young minds. Ms. Reskala’s teaching philosophy centers around creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, challenged, and empowered to embrace their mistakes as part of the learning process. Ms. Reskala is dedicated to connecting with each student to discover their unique academic interests and talents.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Reskala enjoys spending time with her dog and playing basketball. Whether it’s trying new foods at local restaurants, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or cheering on favorite soccer and basketball teams, Ms. Reskala loves to make the most of her free time.

Ms. Reskala looks forward to this upcoming school year and the opportunity to foster a love of learning in every student.
