Ms. Palafox is excited to embark on her fourth year at Cedar Cove Academy, where she will be teaching 2nd and 3rd grade. Originally from Rowland Heights, California, she grew up with her eight siblings. She earned her degree in Urban Learning and her CLAD-infused Multiple Subject teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles. With over 15 years of experience, Ms. Palafox has dedicated her career to educating  little citizens of humanity, having taught kindergarten in Bakersfield and Oceanside, and served as a 2nd grade teacher for eight years at JCS Phoenix Learning Center, now known as JCS Mountain Oaks.

Ms. Palafox’s teaching philosophy is to provide a positive learning environment where students feel safe, challenged, and most importantly understand that mistakes are essential to learning. She is committed to developing a connection with her students to find their individual academic interests, gifts, talents and learning styles.

When Ms. Palafox isn’t busy educating young scholars, she enjoys spending time with her five children: Carlos (24), Ismael (21), Angelica (18), Alessandra (15), and Sergio (15). In her free time, she loves mountain biking, hiking, hunting for the best tacos in San Diego, hosting family game nights, and simply relaxing at home with her family.

Ms. Palafox looks forward to getting to know you as a co-educator in your scholar’s learning.
