(Ms. K) believes in learning through fun, action-packed adventures. She leads little learners in hands-on explorations through which they learn about themselves, others, and the world around them. She believes this is where learning, caring, happiness, and joy happen and where everyone feels safe, understood, and accepted.

After earning her B.A in Visual Art at the University of San Diego, Rachel spent four years designing and teaching art classes for children ages 1.5 through 10 at various recreation centers in North County. Her classes were called “Let’s Get Messy”, and everyone did, parents included! Rachel returned to school to earn a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State University, San Marcos. Upon completion, she stayed home to homeschool her daughter and her son. Ms. K returned to the traditional public school system as a K-5 music teacher in the Carlsbad Unified School District where she enjoyed teaching the music curriculum she had written.

Now, Rachel is beyond thrilled to be a part of JCS Cedar Cove teaching Kindergarten as our youngest learners are her passion. She is thankful to be part of an incredible team of teachers and students. Since Ms. K also holds a Visual Arts Single Subject Authorization, she will be integrating the arts throughout her Kindergarten lessons.

Outside of school, Rachel enjoys swimming, surfing, and painting. She likes to go on walks on the beach and hikes with family and friends. Rachel loves being in Southern California and enjoys occasionally vacationing in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.

Rachel Kassolis is thrilled to guide your child on a learning quest!
